GRADE 1     conversion & extension

New site entrance, substantial landscaping to provide new public car park and enhance the setting of the Grade 1 listed house for the National Trust. The existing buildings around the Stable Courtyard were remodeled to form new staff and visitor facilities. Carried out in phases to maintain access and facilities for the public the extensive improvements, alterations and extensions to the existing courtyard buildings have provided the Trust with a new restaurant and kitchen, gift shop, visitor reception, farm shop/cafe, toilets and staff facilities. Extensive landscape work included a new visitors car park working

closely with the Trust’s Landscape Architect. The Stable courtyard was totally resurfaced and included the provision of a new surface drainage system. The contract value was approximately £1.2 million.
